Chinese New year celebration

Today is the third day of CNY celebration!

I’ve spent these 3 days visiting relative houses and getting ang powwww 😀 hahahaha.

Today, I went to my cousin’s house and there was lion dance!! This was what the “lion” placed Isn’t it cute? Image

We were pretty bored and we decided to play this. STACK block. ahhaha.
Bring back childhood memories and it was fun!!!

And the cutest thing was that we were sitting by the table, playing cards.
One of my cousin and I started to sing, and ta da! everyone by the table followed.

It was super cute!!! ❤ 😀

And at night, we “lao yu sheng”!! Yu sheng is also known as prosperity toss, lo hei.

Yusheng is considered a symbol of abundance, prosperity and vigor. Yusheng is also served as part of a multi-dish dinner, usually as the appetizer due to its symbolism of “good luck” for the new year.

Shall share the meanings of the ingredients! As some, I’m still abit unclear, got some info from online websites 😀

Raw fish–> abundance and excess through the year. 年年有余 (Nian Nian You Yu) meaning “Abundance through the year”.

Pomelo/ Lime–>The pomelo or lime is added to the fish, adding luck and auspicious value. 大吉大利–> “Good luck and smooth sailing”

Oil–> circling the ingredients and encouraging money to flow in from all directions.  财源广进 Cai Yuan Guang Jin meaning “Numerous sources of wealth”

Carrots –> blessings of good luck. 鸿运当头 Hong Yun Dang Tou meaning “Good luck is approaching”.

Shredded green radish –> eternal youth. 青春常驻 Qing Chun Chang Zhu meaning “Forever young”.

Shredded white radish is added –> 步步高升 Bu Bu Gao Sheng meaning “Reaching higher level with each step”

Peanut crumbs–> a household filled with gold and silver. 金银满屋 Jin Yin Man Wu which also mean “Household filled with gold and silver”

Deep-fried flour crisps–> the whole floor would be filled with gold. 满地黄金 Man Di Huang Jin meaning “Floor full of gold”.

Some ingredients I did not add in because it wasn’t in my yu sheng. hahahaa. 🙂

But any more information, you can just refer to online research.

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 2,000 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 3 years to get that many views.

Happy New Year 2013! :)

Fireworks shooting up the sky,
bringing us to a brand new light.
Happiness that we felt,
Laughter that we had,
Tears that we wept,
will be gone in a few seconds.
In this year,
A brand new year.
We can only pray for another beautiful process,
and wishes everybody success.
Let the past go past,
and let those beautiful moments and memories last.
Those mistakes we’ve made,
there is nothing left to be said.
Let them be the lessons learnt,
and no longer let the mistakes burnt.
Time passes fast,
and that is why we have to appreciate it well,
so we will all have stories we want to tell. 🙂

Goodbye 2012!! Although I had some small little obstacles in life, but I’m thankful to be in this world! and thankful for all that I have and happened to me 🙂

Happy 2013 everyone!! Happy new year! 🙂

I wish all of you have a blessed, happy and successful year this year! 🙂
May all your dreams come true!!
